Novation MiniNova est un synthétiseur puissant et compact qui introduit des fonctionnalités jamais encore implémentées dans un appareil de cette gamme de prix, incluant les contrôles 'Animate' et le tout nouvel effet vocal Novation VocalTuneT. La gamme de synthétiseurs Nova est présente depuis la seconde moitié des années '90, mais MiniNova possède une identité sonore qui le rapproche bien plus des années '70. Le moteur de synthèse de MiniNova a été développé par la légende du design de synth, Chris Huggett, qui avait déjà conçu auparavant des jalons tels que Bass Station, SuperNova, Nova et UltraNova.
