Le Greenback G12M ont évolué au fil des décennies, mais conservent encore leur timbre essentiel et recherché. Angus Young est resté fidèle aux Greenback depuis les premiers jours d'AC/DC. Ce modèle offre une attaque plus large dans la gamme des fréquences moyennes et un top-end limité pour donner une attitude agressive aux accords et un timbre brûlant aux solos sans être criard.
Avec son low-end bien contrôlé, il peut être utilisé seul dans des amplificateurs de faible puissance, ou combiné pour des têtes de rock de haute puissance. C'est un haut-parleur idéal pour ajouter du drive et de la définition aux amplificateurs modernes high-gain.

These recordings were made to showcase the differences tonal characteristics of Celestion's range of guitar speakers. To make this comparison as useful as possible, we've recorded three different guitar sounds or styles, "Clean", "Crunch" (two different samples) and "Distortion."
For each style, exactly the same set-up has been used: same environment, same guitar, same riffs, same amplifiers (valve pre-amp and valve power amp), and amp settings, same cab, all with the same EQ. In all cases the mic location was identical, an SM57 located on-axis, but slightly off-centre. Any differences you hear are genuine differences in speaker tone.
